The Tribe Motorcycle Club Nagaland (TMCN) today launched road safety awareness campaign here. The campaign gives riders useful information about the risks on the road without wearing helmet. It also highlighted the serious consequences of using mobile phone while driving.

The campaign kick started at Box Cutting road side. The club members along with traffic police personnel pasted road safety stickers on vehicles, while the club members urged two-wheeler riders to use helmet compulsorily. TMCN president Kelezhazo Pienyu said that the Club was formed in 2016 to engage the community and help change unsafe behaviour on the roads.

The aim of the club is to convey good message to the people by encouraging road users to change the way we think about road safety to reduce road fatalities.

He also informed that the club would take the campaign across the state.

Among the many stickers developed by the club includes “Look twice for two wheelers,” “Drive as if every child on the street are your own,” “Keep calm and do not text while driving,” “Safety is not a job.. it is a way of life,” “Stop for pedestrians,” “Watch out for pedestrians,” “I wear helmet because my brain is irreplaceable,” etc.
