
Kohima, April 14 (MExN): The inauguration of the monument built in tribute to Maj. Gen. John ML Grover, MC, General Officer Commanding 2nd Division, 33 Corps and his officers and soldiers will take place on April 16 at 9:00 AM at Shohuza, Jotsoma village under Kohima district.
The monument will be inaugurated by Brig. G.K. Bibby, CBE, Commander 15 (North East) Brigade. Prayer of blessing will be pronounced by Kolhulie Nagi which will be followed by inauguration of monument, paying of homage, national anthems of UK and India, traditional gun salute, photo session and briefing.
At 9:40, the team will proceed to Khel I (Thekriinoma) where traditional wear display will be held. By 12:20 pm, the team will proceed to the formal function venue where welcome address will be delivered by Golepra Peseyie, chairman JVC. Special number by Baptist youth choir, speech by Celia Grover, KET/KES, release of souvenir by Brig. G.K. Bibby, traditional song, display of WW II antiques will mark the occasion.
Speech on behalf of the people of Jotsoma will be delivered by Krurovi Peseyie, chairman, monument committee while vote of thanks will be pronounced by Dr. Kuokehebi Gwirie.
The programme will be also feature visit to Tsukhwesetsie view point and ascend to Puliebadze/Gaziphe. Keneido Peseyie and Neingulie Nakhro will compere the proceeding of the programme.
