
ERKSU: Eastern Region Khiamniungan Students' Union (ERKSU) has expressed condolences over the sudden demise of late SS Khaplang, Chairman of NSCN (K) on June 9 at Taka, NSCN (K) HQ. In a condolence message, ERKSU recalled Khaplang’s “unwavering and his brave stands” for the Naga freedom. “He was the man who loved his people and figure of all Nagas.” The union further expressed regret over the loss of the “great leader, who inspired the younger generation. A legend has died and a legend will be born again.” It meanwhile offered condolences to the bereaved family members.
NPGN/NNC (NA): The NPGN/NNC (NA) also expressed sorrow at the death of the late NSCN (K) leader at this “crucial juncture”. It described Khaplang as “not only a dedicated patriot but the selfless torch bearer and a good stalwart of the Nagas who has sacrificed his entire lifetime for the cause of sovereignty of the Nagas.” NPGN/NNC (NA) added in a condolence note, “Although he is no more with us his noble deed for the Nagas shall never be erased from the history of Nagas’ struggle for freedom and the legacy he has left behind shall ever be honoured.” Led by the Collective Leadership, all rank and file of NPGN/NNC (NA) further paid homage and salute to the departed soul and extended condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
