Tributes paid to NSCN/GPRN (K) Home Kilonser Sambai Khiam

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): The funeral service of NSCN/GPRN (K) Home Kilonser, Sambai Khiam was held on Friday. Speaking at the funeral in Noklak Town, NSCN/GPRN (K) Ato Kilonser, Col (Retd) Isak Sumi (MC) said, “… today we have been traumatized with the sudden and unexpected sad demise of our Home Kilonser Sambai Khiam after brief illness at his home town Noklak on May 6 while on official duty. With great heartbreaking, we fondly recall his 32 years of service to the Naga National struggle.”

“During the most tumultuous pre-ceasefire years, there has been several heroic exploits under his leadership crediting to saving lives of uncountable Naga national workers and also turning the tides of many battles. Since his enrolment in the NSCN/GPRN in the year 1990 till his last breath, he faithfully served the Nagas without any deviation from the ideologies and principles of the national movement,” Sumi said. 

'His diplomatic and political acumen led to successful establishment of solidarity between different NPGs especially in the Eastern Naga areas when unfortunate fratricidal killings were at its height and today we are enjoying his proud legacy,' he added. “Our sky is darkened and our National Flag stands half-mast in honour of our dear departed leader,” Sumi said while paying tribute with “Condolence Salute”.”
