Kohima, November 15 (MExN): On the occasion of Janjatiya Gourav Diwas, the seventh Tribes India outlet of TRIFED in the North East, under the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, opened today at DUDA Guest House Annexe, Kohima on November 15. 

T Wati Aier, Director of the Directorate of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), inaugurated the outlet in the presence of R. Bendang Ao, Managing Director of MARCOFED; Dr Anungla Imdong Phom, Additional Director of DUDA; Pathing Keishing, Regional Manager; Asif Ekbal Hussain, Senior Program Executive, and other officers from DUDA and TRIFED.

According to a press release, TRIFED has been taking several measures to emerge as a source of employment generation for home-bound labour and tribal artisans. 

TRIFED is using its extensive retail network to market tribal products and has decided to transfer 100% of the sales proceeds to the tribal artisans, it said. 

To make the customer experience as seamless as possible, the Regional Offices of TRIBES India have also put in place arrangements for door-to-door delivery of products, it added.

To leverage e-commerce platforms, Tribes India products are also made available at www.tribesindia.com, with all regions working together to ensure that varieties and offerings of all kinds are readily accessible on e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm, and GeM, the release informed.
