
Phek, March 31 (MExN): With the view to upgrade the student’s rationality on rural areas and exposure to city life, Government Middle School (GMS) Thenyizu organized exposure trip to Dimapur on 30 and 31 March.
It was informed in a press release that the exposure was an initiative of the staffs from GMS Thenyizumi. The programme was to encourage young aspirations to get exposed to the city life and to give them a taste of ground reality other than being confined to the textbook alone.
Altogether 42 students from Class V to VII along with teachers went for the exposure trip. The students visited Green Park, Nagaland Science Centre and Tea Garden in the Dimapur
Head teacher of GMS Thenyizu, Zazhota Dawhuo, said that the exposure was to enable the students to get an experience of what is an ice-cream, a cup of tea a hotel, a plate of food in a hotel.
He also mentioned that exposure to make the school students enhanced knowledge and also to let the teachers give more interest in the days to come.
“90% of the students have not even gone to Kohima, the collection per students is Rs.200/- only, but many could not even pay for that,” Zazhota added. He, however, said with the contribution from the good wishers and the teachers, the trip was held.
Some of the students mentioned that the exposure was an eye-opening experience and the 3D at the Science center had amused them.
