The inaugural Poanglum 6A Side Futsal Tournament, organised by Nyenshen Football Club, took place at Nyenshen Futsal Arena in Tuensang town from January 15 to 16. A total of 12 teams participated in the event, marking the first-ever futsal championship in the district. In the final match, Bongshei FC emerged victorious over Himjen FC, securing the coveted cup and a cash prize of Rs 20,000.
The runners-up, Himjen FC, received a cash prize of Rs 1,000 for their commendable performance. The Player of the Tournament title was awarded to Bapen of Bongshei FC, who not only showcased exceptional skills but also received a cash prize of Rs 3,000 along with a certificate of recognition.
The tournament proceedings were overseen by M Nungsang, Chairman of the Referee Board Tuensang District, and N Chuba, a referee from TDFA. Their officiating ensured fair play and added to the success of the event, which marked a significant milestone for futsal enthusiasts in the district.
