An NST (Nagaland State Transport) bus from Zunheboto was hit by a truck early morning on October 31 at the National Highway 201A, below Woodland Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred at a sharp turning when the truck allegedly entered the wrong lane, which was meant for buses. One passenger stated that the truck was coming in the wrong direction, resulting in the impact.
The front windshield of the bus was completely damaged in the incident. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported among the passengers or drivers.
The truck was driven by one Shikiye from Phisami village. The vehicle belongs to Nikuto from Aghunato, it was reported. The NST bus, driven by Hokito, was on its route to Dimapur when the incident occurred.
NST officials informed that no police case has been filed, as the matter will be settled between the department and the truck owner.
Following the incident, the bus continued its journey to Dimapur along with the passengers on board. It will undergo necessary repairs and maintenance upon arrival.
Officials added that an alternative bus service would be arranged from Dimapur since no additional vehicle is currently available in Zunheboto.
