
SKKD celebrates 28th freshers meet
Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): The Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu Delhi (SKKD) celebrated its 28th freshers meet on October 22 at Diocesan Community Center Hall, New Delhi with Er Hutovi Yeptho, Chairman, Sumi Community Delhi as the speaker.
The speaker in his address encouraged the students by quoting “an educated man is a free man, he or she writes his or her own ticket.” He said that true education will liberate an individual, family and society from many bondages such a poverty, ism, bribery, nepotism etc that has hold our society over these years.
He also urged the student to create positive image since we are going to be easily noticeable and rewarded or condemned much easily compared to the mainland because we look different therefore channel this physical difference into positive message. He further reminded the student not be carried away by the half information easily available in the social media but to go deep on issues and be master of it.
In conclusion, he called upon the gathering that people living outside should bring unity and harmony among the Naga society and not the other way.
Earlier, Inotoli K. Ayemi, President, SKKD in her presidential address encouraged the freshers and the Sumis residing in Delhi to be bold and courageous even though they are far away from home and to have faith in SKKD, Sumi Christian Fellowship Delhi and Sumi Community Delhi.
In the event, Hotoka S. Shohe and Kavitoli Yeptho were crowned as Mr and Miss Fresher respectively. There were special performances by the Extremists band and Ao dance troupe.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks speech by Akivi N Chophi, General Secretary, SKKD followed by mass benediction.
