Tseminyu stakeholders to abide by Rengma Hoho’s decision on ULB Election 

Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The Rengma Hoho and its frontal organisations held an emergency consultation meeting with all the Tseminyu Town Wards GBs and all the intending candidates for the Urban Local Body (ULB) election under Tseminyu district on Tuesday.

During the meeting which was held at Riga Thong Memorial Conference Hall, Rengma Hoho Office Tseminyu, the outcome of the Nagaland Tribal Hohos’ meeting resolution of March 27 was highlighted. According to a press release received here, “All the stakeholders and intending candidates under Tseminyu district unanimously agreed to abide by the decision of Rengma Hoho and its frontal organisations not to participate and restrain themselves from filing nomination until the demand of the Tribal Hohos are fulfilled.” The meeting also resolved and appeal all the citizens to continue their unflinching support and cooperation in safeguarding and protecting the right and aspiration of the Naga people, stated the release which was issued by Rengma Hoho President, Pollem Tep and General Secretary, Sinilo Thong Seb. 

It must be noted here that the 1st session of 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on March 28 passed a bill to repeal the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001 “in toto with immediate effect” thus nullifying the need for elections.
