Tseminyu strengthens child protection services

Tseminyu, April 23 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Tseminyu, in coordination with the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), has implemented Rule 86(11) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Model Rules, 2016, to strengthen child protection services in the district.

According to a press release, the initiative was carried out on April 22 at the SP Office, Tseminyu. The Rule mandates that "The names and contact details of the Special Juvenile Police Unit or Child Welfare Police Officer shall be placed at a conspicuous part at the police stations, Child Care Institutions, Committees, Boards and the Children's Courts."

Under the aegis of DCPU Tseminyu and in coordination with SJPU, Child Helpline, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and Child Welfare Committee (CWC), contact details boards of SJPU members were installed at the SP Office and Tseminyu Police Station.

The exercise was carried out under the supervision of Lanu Aier, Addl SP-cum-Nodal Officer of SJPU. It aims to ensure prominent display of SJPU contact information, enabling children to access assistance without barriers, the release stated.
