Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): The community of Tsiesema villagers and Zhadima Kimho khel held a ‘friendship feast’ on March 4 at Tsiesema village where about 2000 members from both the community attended the feast.
Ruokuobeilie Mere, Organizing Committee Secretary chaired the programme and T.L. Angami, Founder President and Sr. Advisor of GBFN as the guest of honour exhorted the gathering to continue to have good relationship among the two communities. He said that the friendship was there from the times of their parents and the same should continue even in the days to come.
A press release from the organising committee stated that genesis of the friendship between the two communities was shared by elders from both the village. “According to them it is said that this friendship started during the year 1956-1958 when Nagas were facing turmoil out of freedom movement for Nagas which the Indian Government tried to oppressed with their mighty armies and in due course of time, mostly from Kimho Khel of Zhadima were called to Tsiesema as a part of grouping of villages by the Government where they stayed for more than a year like a family sharing every little things,” the elders informed.
VCC Zhadima also gave a short speech and stated that the friendship should not only be confined to Kimho Khel of Zhadima but should include the whole Zhadima. Vote of thanks was delivered by Zakamvu Sorunuo, Organizing Committee Convenor.
