Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The second edition of M Chuba Meritorious Award 2024, an award for highest scorer amongst Yimkhiung tribe in HSLC examination aided by M Chuba Family was held at Kohima, DUDA Guest house with Khalenmew, Talk Team member Eastern Naga People’s Organisations (ENPO) as the guest speaker. 

A press release received here stated that the programme was attended by delegates from Yimkhiung gazetted officers association, Yimkhiung Union Kohima, Yimkhiung Baptist Boru Kohima and Yimkhiung Students’ Union Kohima.

The awardee, Tsiurile V Thonglii a student of Little Flower School Kohima and native of Pungro who clinched the top 4th position in recent declared HSLC examination 2024 with 97.80%, was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, citation and momento.

Speaking on the occassion, Khalenmew expressed his concern over the drop out and failed students. He exhorted the YAA officials and church to work together and devise robust mechanism over education backwardness in region.

Chingmak Chang, President ENSF exhorted the congregation on mental health, stating that stress, anxiety has become very common with today youngsters in this competitive world. He encouraged the students to be vigil of one’s mental as it has colossal negative ramifications for individual in ones quest and also encouraged them to stay positive and focused in life.

In her speech, Tsiurile shared that her route to top 4 was made materialised by God's constant guidance and by adding extra miles in her efforts with perseverance and consistency.

The programme embarked with invocation prayer from Tsunji Youth Board Member YBBK, prelude from Keyoungkhum President YAA, a gist of Late M Chuba life was expounded by his son Dr Berimong and short speeches were delivered from ENSF President, YUK and Yinkiu official from YGOA, Felicitation cum prayer was pronounced by Wongtokiu Pastor YBBK, word of gratitude from Lemchimong Thongleh speaker YAA. The programme was chaired by Soshila T Yimchunger, Women Coordinator YAA and benediction was said by Rachel Yimkhiung, Associate Pastor women YBBK.
