Tsüngremmong greetings 

Kohima, August 1 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has greeted the Aos on the auspicious occasion of Tsüngremmong. Patton said that the Aos celebrate this pre harvest festival to foster unity and friendship. It is also a time for showcasing their rich cultural heritage. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed heartiest festive greetings and prayed for peace and prosperity. 

NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has conveyed festival greetings on the occasion of Tsüngremmong of the Ao Nagas observed during the 1st week of August and which is a pre-harvest festival, marking the end of rigorous plantation. The festival is celebrated just before the harvest so as to invoke the blessing of God for a fruitful and bountiful harvest.
“The Ao Nagas is one of the advanced communities among Nagas tribes who excels and leads in many fields. May this festival also foster a spirit of unity and peace amongst the Nagas,” NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) stated in a press release.
