SHAMATOR, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): Tüjünu United FC (TUFC) in collaboration with Shamator Village Students’ Union (SVSU) organised the Tsonglak Nyi Football Tournament during the celebration of Tikhir Tsonglak Festival from October 9 to 12 in Shamator Village.
The first day programme was chaired by K Khupanthong , Joint Secretary, SVSU followed by welcome address from A Tsüpanthong, Captain, TUFC. A brief talk on the meaning of Tsonglak Festival was delivered by K Wongtsü, GB, and speeches were delivered by K Mongtsü on behalf of sponsors; Yanrükiu S, President SVSU; L Thongsangkiu, VCC; and T Limthy, President SVCU.
The first match was played between Rongrong United Club (RUC) and Vodai FC (VFC). Tüjünu United FC (TUFC) emerged as the winner of the tournament against Young Middle Club (YMC). The closing ceremony came to an end with performance by a band headed by Major Dhirendar, 14 AR, Shamator on the night of October 12. He expressed happiness on the conduct of the tournament and encouraged youth of the village in the fields of sports and music.
