DIMAPUR, APRIL 25 (MExN): The Tikhir Students' Union (TSU) today pointed to the sorry state of several schools under its jurisdiction. A press note from the TSU informed that during its educational tour on April 21, the TSU found that many schools face shortage of teachers. “GHS Anatongre and GHS Kiusam town have neither Headmasters nor AHMs,” the union informed. It further stated that GPS Thongsonyu, under SDEO Thonoknyu, previously under SDEO Noklak, has “no record of department official visit since its establishment in 1976.” “School infrastructure including MDM kitchen, office building, all weather classrooms, computer facilities are missing. Some schools even have shared classrooms for lower sections due to unavailability of classrooms,” the TSU stated. It informed that the union has addressed a representation to the Director, School Education and the respective SSDEOs, SDEOs and DEOs of Kiphire, Shamator, Thonoknyu to initiate remedial measures.
