Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): The Tikhir Students’ Union Kiphire town has flayed the Yimchunger Tribal Council over the public procession at Tuensang town on August 12, demanding the state government to arrest the Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) leaders; the union stated it was “totally nonsense procession”.
The union has strongly condemned the procession and that all the right thinking Naga citizens should condemn such “anti tribal leaders” and has appealed the state government to book the YTC leaders within stipulated time and take strong action as per the law.
The TSU in a press note issued by its president S Longkamse and general secretary N Torep stated that the Yimchunger Tribal Council alleged that Tikhir Tribal Council is an “illegal organization” with “mentioning terrorist leaders”.
In reply to the allegation, the union said: “…the YTC leaders is very genuine from the beginning leading Yimchunger public acting the terrorizing putting mask and killed many Tikhir innocent leaders, massacred educated Tikhir people, raped and murdered young Tikhir girls, kidnapped and shot to dead without any guilty, harsh attacked more than 10 Tikhir villages, granaries and houses was burned to ash, killed many people by the YTC terrorist leaders (sic).”
Supporting its stand, it stated that leaders should not be called as an illegal organization as the union was chosen to lead Tikhirs, having more than 50,000 people with its “original documentary of culture tradition and its settlement”.
