
Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): The Landowners of Tsumang Lake in Wokha town have entered into an agreement with the department of fisheries “on the ownership of Tsumang lake”. Tsumang Lake in Wokha town will now be utilized for fishery developmental works. The agreement was made on March 31 this year between “the landowners of Tsumang Lake comprising of Echung Mongrui (Erui) Clan ‘A’ Khel and Mipungshan Murry Clan ‘B’ Khel of Wokha Village and the department of fisheries, Govt. of Nagaland.”
Informing of the said agreement, Nyamo Murry, chairman, Miphungshan Rui Landowners Union ‘B’ Khel and Wozamo Erui, chairman Erui ‘A’ Khel Wokha village in a press note stated that the agreement was arrived at under the witness of village council Chairman Wokha village.
“The agreement deed is on the ownership of Tsumang Lake, now presently occupied by fisheries department, which was donated by the landowners of Tsumang conditionally to the department of Fisheries, for fishery developmental activities,” the joint press note stated.
The joint note also stated that the deed signed between the two parties is final and binding with “the two parties resolving to abide firmly by the agreement”. It further cautioned that “any party/parties interfering within the lake and the surrounding thematic area, in any form shall invite legal action as per law”.
