TTCSU organizes mock drill with Dimapur DDMA

  Morung Express News Dimapur | November 14   The Trinity Theological College Students’ Union (TTCSU) in collaboration with Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) organized mock drill on natural disasters at the College premises on November 14. Demonstration was conducted on four particular areas – CPR, emergency method of rescue, bandaging and uses of splinting. It was further performed on different modes such as demonstration on choking, loss of blood, pick a bag, unconscious state, fireman lift, blanket stretcher etc.   TTCSU, General Secretary, Tovi V Chishi stressed on the need for students to be fully equipped with precautionary and relief measures in the event of any natural calamities. “Equipped with basic knowledge, the students foraying to different fields can always save a soul in times of disasters,” he said.   Bubu Patrick Golmei, District Project Associate Dimapur (NSDMA) headed the 16 member team for the drill. Gonmei stated that the entire Northeast region comes under seismic zone V- most susceptible to destructive seismic activities and what “better platform to impart such knowledge than the student community,” he added.   The students expressed happiness with the initiative and found it very handy in everyday life. The College appreciated the competence of the DDMA team.
