Tuensang, November 4 (MExN): The 2nd phase of Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) was flagged off by Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Kumar Ramnikant, (IAS) at Sao Chang College, Tuensang on November 4.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Ramnikant encouraged the students to come forward and seize the opportunity and learn about business concepts through the entrepreneurship development programme and encouraged them to be creative.
According to a press release, V Vikheto Yeptho from the Department of Industries & Commerce mentioned that EDCs will create a startup ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs and enable them to know more about various schemes of Government and their support for entrepreneurs such as PMEGP & PMFME.
Dorethy Chang who is a proprietor of Benlin Bakery, Tuensang shared her journey and emphasised that commitment, discipline and focus is required to keep moving up the ladder steadily. She also mentioned that there are a lot of earning opportunities everywhere but usually people overlook them and dream too big; hoping for the unreachable with limited experience.
Atsung Sangtam who is the Head Co-ordinator for Entrepreneurship Development Centre described about how the entrepreneurship programme would help students to know more about entrepreneurship, how to start, build & scale business ideas. He also encouraged all the participants to become a role model for the society and how this programme would build job creators whilst sharing the road map of entrepreneurship programme.
Earlier, the programme with an invocation prayer by K Yimto, Pastor, Yimkhiung Baptist Church, welcome address was delivered by Dr Vitsosie Vupru, Principal, Sao Chang College (SCC) Tuensang while vote of thanks was proposed by Akyuba Sangtam, Assistant Professor of SCC
EDC in Colleges is an initiative of Startup Nagaland, implemented by EduCentre School of Business and supported by Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), the release stated.
