Tuensang: Chang community pledges support for FNTA at thanksgiving prog

‘Agreement provisions to be disclosed at ENPO dedication ceremony’

A thanksgiving programme titled ‘FNTA Hapbü Shanga – Nyensang Kubü Lamthen’ was organised by the Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) at the Town Hall, Tuensang on Tuesday, during which the community expressed gratitude and reaffirmed its support for the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA).

The event was attended by apex bodies of the Chang community, church leaders, and members of the public.

In his address, Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) President, A Chingmak disclosed that the detailed ‘provisions of the agreement’ would be disclosed during the dedication ceremony of ENPO at its headquarters in Tuensang.

N Sipong, Vice President of CKS, highlighted the significance of the development and acknowledged the collective efforts of the people. 

Other speakers including I Lanuchuba, Vice President of CKS, and N Kaimang, President of Tuensang Village Citizens’ Union, emphasised unity and cooperation among tribal bodies and stakeholders.

Former Minister H Chuba and former Parliamentary Secretary, Toyang Changkong reflected on the long journey that led to the present stage and called for continued solidarity.

Short speeches were delivered by L Mongsen, Executive Chairperson of Changsao Thangjam Setshang, Er P Ngamen, President of Chang Gazetted Officers’ Association and C Pongsu, President of CWS. Rev Achu, Executive Secretary of Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen, delivered a message of dedication. 

The programme concluded with remarks from CN Yanchu, Vice President of CKS, and a closing prayer by Rev W Kaimang, Pastor of Sangsangnyu. Song presentations by Lole Band and SON-4 were also part of the programme.

Earlier, H Wongto, Executive Secretary of CKS, chaired the programme, Chang Wedoshi Setshang presented the Chang anthem while invocation was pronounced by Rev H Sangkap, Pastor of Tuensang Town Baptist Lashong.
