Tuensang District Hospital receives Critical Diagnostic Equipment

An inaugural programme for implementation of critical diagnostic equipment was held at District Hospital, Tuensang on September 1. The project was partnered by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd through a CSR project costing Rs 80.94 Lakh through the initiative of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and Doctors For You (DFY).

The Deputy Commissioner Tuensang Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa who chaired the programme also submitted one proposal to the Regional Director NTPC Ltd for prefabricated quarters for Medical Officers in Tuensang district under CSR initiative – six in Tuensang town, two in Longkhim town, one in Noksen town and one in Chare town. 

Another proposal was also submitted to Doctors For You for setting up of mother-child care centre at Nagesh PHC, Chimonger PHC, Noksen PHC, Chare PHC, Chingmei PHC and Ngoungchung PHC. 

She also mentioned about the sit-in protest that the Sao Chang College students have staged since August 31 at Clock Tower Tuensang highlighting that the distance of the college from clock tower is around 10 kms and with only three functional buses for around 700 students. 

The dedicatory prayer was led by Rev Achu Chang, Executive Secretary, CBLT. Advisor of School Education and SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome who inaugurated the centre, speaking on the occasion thanked the NTPC Ltd for their valuable contribution to the people of Nagaland in field of generation of electricity, climate change and health sector. “We hope that this is just the baseline, we are hoping that you will open up a make line review so that you can constantly see the progress of your investment here,” Yhome added.

The introductory note and the activities of IDAN was highlighted in detail by I Changsang Chang, Under Secretary, Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and speech from NTPC Ltd was delivered by Karunakar Das, Chief General Manager, NTPC Bongaigaon.

Welcome address was delivered by Dr Keveduyi Theyo, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Tuensang while short speeches were delivered by Dr Kika Longkumer, Joint Director, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland and Sunny Borgohain, Director – DRR & Capacity Building, Doctors For You.

A cultural presentation of folk-fusion was performed by Mother’s Welfare Society, Tuensang. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Pus Liegise, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Tuensang and benediction prayer was pronounced by S Kamchila, Chaplain District Hospital, Tuensang.

The equipments received include: Anaesthesia workstation; Colour doppler usg machine with three probes and accessories; Diather machine Bi-polar TURP; Fully automated electrolyte analyser part 5 with UPS back up; Fully automated biochemistry analyser with UPS back up; Fully automated blood analyser with UPS back up; Autoclave horizontal 3 bin; Computed radiography system for digital x ray; Obstetric labour table telescopic hydraulic; ECG machine; Orthopaedic drilling machine; Truenat machine; and IT equipment – monitor, printer, CPU.
