The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection (LMCP), in collaboration with the Tuensang District Legal Services Authority (TDLSA), observed World Consumer Rights Day at CTS Hall under the theme ‘a just transition to a sustainable lifestyle’ on March 15.
The programme was chaired by Muthiam from TDLSA. Herola, a panel lawyer from TDLSA, delivered the welcome address.
Addressing the gathering, Antimangyang Chang, a retainer lawyer with TDLSA, highlighted key aspects of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, underscoring its relevance in safeguarding consumer interests.
C Chullen Chang, Assistant Controller of LMCP, Tuensang, delved into the event’s theme, stressing the need for a responsible transition toward sustainability in consumption habits.
An interactive session followed, allowing attendees to engage with legal experts on consumer rights and responsibilities. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Muthiam.
