Nokchasashi, NSC, Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang and District Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths, Tuensang launched the online registration of births and deaths at District Economics and Statistics Office in Tuensang on December 19.
Emphasizing on the significance of the day for the department as well as the people of Tuensang, Nokchasashi stated that the purpose of online registration is to maintain the records which will be easier to update the data on timely basis.
He also congratulated the department while keeping in mind that the importance of keeping in check of the population of its place must be considered. Akangjongshi Chang, DESO and District Registrar of Births and Deaths, Tuensang in his welcome speech stated that an applicant can register through online within 21 days from the date of occurrence through the portal crsorgi.gov.in.
He also stated at present the service will be available only within the jurisdiction of Tuensang town at two units which will be at DESO and Tuensang Town Council office. However, he also mentioned that the service will be extended to other areas in a phase-wise manner.
“The computer-generated certificates are to be recognized as legal documents along with the certificates issued manually by the Registrar of Births and Deaths,” he added.
Earlier, the launching programme was chaired by Ajong Chang, Field Investigator, DESO, Tuensang.
