TUENSANG, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): Tuensang Police arrested six people in connection to offences under the NLTP, NDPS acts and extortion from November 15-19.
PRO & Additional SP in a press release informed that on November 15, acting on a tip-off, Tuensang Police conducted MVCP in Tuensang Town wherein one vehicle B/R No- NL01 CA 1761 (S- Presso) was intercepted and upon checking the vehicle, 30 bottles of MC Rum (750 ml) and 24 cans of Beer (500 ml) were recovered from the possession of one person namely Chingmak Chollen Chang aged 32 years. In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered under NLTP Act for investigation.
On November 16, QRT (Crime Branch) DEF Tuensang conducted search at one suspected house at NST ward Tuensang and recovered 4.14 gram (approx) of suspected brown sugar from the possession of one identified as Ongmang Yemjong aged 32 years. Subsequently, during initial enquiry, two more co- accused person namely- Thungti Lempong (32 yrs) and T. Changkumchuba Chang (32 yrs) were also apprehended. In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered under NDPS Act for further investigation.
Based on a written suo- motto FIR was received on November 17, stating that some miscreants were found to be demanding money from the truck drivers at Bazaar area Tuensang town, QRT (Crime Branch) DEF Tuensang apprehended three persons namely Longpang Khumba (42 yrs), Yemlong Somba (39 yrs) and Bamotakum (53 yrs). In this connection, a case has been registered for further investigation.
On November 19, basing on reliable source, Night Super bus bound Tuensang from Dimapur was checked at the counter and one person in possession of brown sugar weighing 24.58 grams (approx) was apprehended. The accused was identified as Ngushu @ Gorge (35 Yrs) hailing from Nagarjan, Dimapur. In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered under NDPS Act for further investigation.
