Circuit house, DC and SP offices sealed

One police officer under SP office, Tuensang tested positive for COVID-19 on August 30.
According to reports from the Chief Medical Officer, Tuensang, 13 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 via TrueNat and confirmed by RdRp Gene Confirmation on Sunday.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tuensang and Chairman of District Task Force, Kumar Ramnikant, ordered the sealing of office of the DC, Superintendent of Police and Circuit House, Tuensang for a period of 48 hours or till further orders.
All hospitality services have been suspended and no accommodation/reservation will be entertained, the order said.
All officers and staff of the said offices have been directed to self-isolate and work from home and be available on call.
Speaking to The Morung Express, Superintendent of Police, Tuensang, Bharat Laxman Markad said, “To adhere to the SOP of the state government, we decided to close down DC office, SP office and the circuit house. In the last 2 days, he (the person detected COVID-19 positive in SP office) attended one meeting in the DC office and the DC also came in contact with him. We attended one meeting with VIPs in the circuit house also. That is the reason we have kept the three establishments closed for 48 hours.”
“All primary contacts, 16 of us have gone for testing yesterday and all of us tested negative and will go for another round of testing after 5 days,” the SP added.
The DC could not be reached for comments.
According to the latest developments of the COVID-19 status in Tuensang, the total confirmed positive cases are 67, with 21 active cases and 46 recovered.
The release added that the patients are asymptomatic and stable. The order further mentioned that no public interview shall be entertained and all officers or staff of the offices are to self isolate.
Meanwhile, according to sources, the police officer was also present during the inauguration of the BSL-2 lab in Tuensang on August 28. State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom who inaugurated the lab, is also self isolating as a precautionary measure, according to reports.
Shamator no longer a green zone
Meanwhile, Shamator town which was a green zone till date reported 5 COVID-19 positive cases on August 30.
From the samples collected on August 28, 3 males and 2 females tested positive on Sunday, according to a DIPR report.
A team of medical workers from Tuensang including 2 doctors and 3 surveillance workers have reportedly reached Shamator for further contact tracing.
The report added that, the town is facing shortage of medical staff owing to nurses and health workers undergoing self-isolation following the confirmation of positive cases. Meanwhile, the district administration has imposed 48-hour total lockdown from August 30 in Shamator town in order to contact the spread and for contact tracing.
ADC and Chairman of the COVID-19 Task Force, Shamator Langkonsen Tsanglao, notified that all movement, except for medical emergency/services, administration, police, security forces, COVID-19 duty and funeral, have been prohibited.
All business establishments, except for pharmacies, shall be strictly closed, the notice added. Gathering of all people, all places of worship, banks, Aadhaar enrolment centre etc, shall remain closed until further order, it added.
