
TUENSANG, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): Tuensang Police, on multiple occasions, seized Indian made foreign liquor IMFL as well as contraband drugs in Tuensang.
A press release received from PRO, Tuensang Police informed that on September 23, a police team led by SI Thepfusazo Yase, I/C Chare out-post seized 60 bottles of rum from a truck while conducting Motor Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) in Chare Town.
In this connection, one person identified as Minas (23 yrs), presently residing in Zani village, Dimapur was apprehended and a case was registered under relevant section of NLTP Act.
On September 27, based on specific information, Quick Response Team (QRT) Crime Branch conducted house search at the residence of one Lichemse (38yrs) at Tphukyu Ward, Longkhim and recovered 72 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon from his possession.
On the same day, the QRT during house search of Majia at Longjo ‘C’ Longkhim Town seized a soap case containing suspected heroin weighing 7.53 grams approximately from her possession.
In connection to both the incidents, the alleged accused were arrested and regular criminal cases were registered under the NDPS Act for further investigation at Longkhim Police Station, the PRO informed.
Meanwhile, the District Executive Force (DEF) Tuensang conducted an awareness programme on the topic “Capacity Building on Cyber Crime” on September 22 and 23 at the Baptist Thangyen Higher Secondary School and at SP office conference hall, Tuensang respectively.
The awareness programme aimed at creating awareness and familiarising the students, teaching staffs and women & youth of Police family on threats and other dangers lurking online, the PRO informed in a press release.
A one-day free medical camp was also organised by DEF Tuensang in collaboration with the CMO Tuensang at the office of Superintendent of Police, Tuensang for the welfare of the police personnel, family and officers of the unit.
Specialised doctors and medical staffs conducted free health check-ups and provided free medicines, the PRO release added.
