Tuensang: Sometnaro S crowned Miss Chang 2024

In a dazzling display of beauty, talent, and culture, the Miss Chang 2024 contest unfolded at the Poanglüm Hornbill Festival held at the Parade Ground, Tuensang town on January 12. Organised by the Changsao Thangjam Setshang (CTS), the Chang Women Organisation, the event was nothing short of a grand celebration under the theme “Mu Kibü Sao” (A woman of value or worth).

The title of Miss Chang 2024 was awarded to Sometnaro S, who was crowned by the former Miss Chang Naonglemla W Chang. Chubachila secured the 1st runners-up position, while Moalemla claimed the 2nd runners-up title.

The subtitles winners included Miss Congeniality-Sangmaichila, Miss Ramp Walk-Noksen Khumla, Miss Photogenic-Chaanglemla N, Miss Talented-Chubachila, and Miss Popularity-Moalemla. 

Earlier, the event commenced with invocation by Changsang, Pastor DEF Church Tuensang. The President of CTS, C Asenla Chang in her keynote address highlighted the significance of the event in empowering the women of Chang.

The hosts of the event Suchila and Hongsangsonla, effortlessly guided the audience through the evening. The atmosphere was further electrified by the captivating performance of young learners from Beginner Music Station Tuensang.

Special Guest Tangnyu Imti, wife of MLA Imtichoba graced the occasion with a speech. Musical performances were made by guest artists Yemkong Somba and Lydia. The audience was also treated to a surprise appearance by Naten Lemba, 1st Mr Eastern Nagaland 2023. 

The Miss Chang 2024 contest featured ten contestants hailing from various Chang villages. Nochila, Sometnaro S, Chaanglemla N, Noksen Khumla, Chaangsangla, Sentisangla, Chuba Chila, Sometnaro K, Sangmaichila, and Moalemla showcased not only their beauty but also talent and charisma.

The choreography of the event was handled by Onou Lemla, winner of the 1st Miss Chang title. The designer round featured creation of Sungmo, while Noksen was the makeup artist. 

Mutten Hangba E Chang, grand winner of Global Model India 2022, winner of I am Model Search International Malaysia 2023 and runners up Global Mr Nagaland 2021 was the guest judge with Sonya Sonla, former beauty queen, and Toni Naro, Assistant Professor, as the judges.
