Tuli: ‘Together, we can tackle the world drug problem’

District Administration, Mokokchung observed International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking at Tuli College on June 26.

Mokokchung, June 26 (MExN): The District Administration, Mokokchung observed International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking with the theme ‘Together, we can tackle the world drug problem’ at Tuli College on June 26. 

The two theme speakers were Aketo Chishi SDPO, Tuli and Nukshiwati Longchar, District Consultant, National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP). Nukshiwati while speaking on the theme, drew light on the different substances that can be abuse ones physical and mental health and enlightened the gathered, specially the students on how and why to avoid.

Aketo, SDPO Tuli pointed out that the main reason why people take drugs is out of curiosity. He also mentioned of the social condition where many are using drugs and stated that, it may influence the younger generation to try and slowly indulge in it, completely. He also mentioned, parents or peer may tempt one to use drugs.

SDO (Civil) Tuli, Nukshimatong drew an outline on Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan. The programme was followed by interaction, questions hours and Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan pledge signing.

District Administration, wards representatives of Tuli, Police Department and students of Government HSS, Tuli and Tuli College attended the programme.
