TVCU issues ultimatum

Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): The Tuensang Village Citizen Union (TVCU) issuing an ultimatum stated that since last year, Tuensang Village could not have pipeline drinking water and are facing much hardship and also that the pipeline used to damage frequently in place to place due to the expiry of the “pipe life.” It also informed that the pipeline was connected during the year 1981 and is now running for 29 years. 

In the light of above circumstances, the TVCU stated that it has approached the concerned department/authorities/government machineries for several times but still action was not taken. The ultimatum mentioned that on August 31, 2005 it submitted application to concern department for repairing; on February 9, 2006 it submitted estimate and proposal to concerned minister, August 9, 2006 it submitted application for repairing and replacement to concern minister and January 22, 2010 submitted proposal list to concern minister. Hence, VCU stated that it has taken the decisions on August 4, 2010 to serve this ultimatum to the government for necessary action.  

The ultimatum date line is August 15, 2010. It was also stated that as long as the villagers suffer in pipeline drinking water, all the people leaving in Tuensang would also be made to face the same for the government failure and for this all the pipe line would be disconnected. It also said that any untoward happening would be the responsibility of the Government. 

After the expiry of the ultimatum date line, TVCU stated that 4 inch pipeline of Assam Rifle, 3 inch pipeline of Mission Compound Tuensang Town, 3 inch pipeline of Bazaar Sector Tuensang Town, 2 inch pipeline from Yongphang Town and Civil Hospital Line will be disconnected from the source which was said to be extracted from Tuensang Village belonging land or river.
