
Pungro, May 6 (MExN): With no sanction from the government and the concerned department forthcoming for repair of the Kohima-Kiphire National Highway, the Tethuyo Village Students Union (TVSU) took to repairing the highway on its own from Kiphire junction leading to Likimro Hydel Electric Project (LHEP) – a distance of 4 kms. The road connects more than 54 villages under Pungro sub- division in Kiphire district.
In this connection, the Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division (PFPSD) has expressed appreciation towards TVSU for its philanthropic service.
President PFPSD, S. Kiusumew Yimchungru in a press release lauded the sincere efforts made by Tethuyo Village Students Union for major repairing works of the National highway in their area and added that it had brought “a great respite” for the general public and commuters.
“The union has done a commendable job which shows great exemplary to the others society for the common benefits of the peoples and society at large (sic),” the release stated.
The forum further expressed hope that the TVSU would continue such benevolent works even in the near future.
