TVYO condemn actions of human traffickers

Dimapur, April 12 (MExN): The Tenyiphie-1 Village Youth Organization (TVYO) has condemned the actions of the four alleged human traffickers who were arrested by the Dimapur Police District Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (DAHTU) recently.  

In a condemnation note, Rokosielie Viyie, President and Vivoto Tetso, Convenor, Action Committee of TVYO expressed shock over the “heinous trade” of human trafficking terming it “barbaric and violation of human rights which can never be tolerated in the society.”  

Two of the accused Johur Uddin and his wife Jorina Khatoon, both temporary residents of Tenyiphe-1 Village, have been excommunicated from the village and its surrounding jurisdiction with immediate effect, the organization stated.  

It further asked the law enforcing authority to take appropriate measures in condemning and penalizing traffickers according to the law of the land and ensure “protection and assistance to the victims of trafficking with full respect for their human rights, including where appropriate through legislation.”  

Meanwhile, the organization reiterated its statement that “any outsiders creating disturbance and indulging in any anti-social elements in its land cannot be tolerated and will be dealt severely according to the law.” Hence, it has requested the landlords to be more aware and cautious of the tenants for peaceful environment.

It also lauded the Dimapur Police (DAHTU) for their efforts in combating evil menace of the society.
