
DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (MExN): The Dimapur Police has arrested 2 persons in connection with the incident on May 5 where miscreants had poured harmful chemicals inside 34 boxes of fish at a market in Dimapur. A complaint was filed by the Andhra Fish Supply Union at the Sub-Urban Police Station in regard to threats, extortion and harassment meted to their members by unknown miscreants.
A press release from the PRO, Dimapur Police informed that during the course of investigation, upon conducting examination, some suspects were identified and placed under police surveillance. On May 26 at around 1:00 am, a team led by ACP West along with OC SBN PS, 2nd OC SBN PS and SBN PS team proceeded to Kohima and with the assistance of electronic surveillance and human intelligence, the team raided a house at New Minister’s Hill Kohima during which the 2 persons were arrested.
The arrested persons were identified as Apuloto Chishi (36), Lieutenant Colonel NSCN K (Khango) Kohima Town Commander; and Kaisha Yepthomi (30), 2nd Lieutenant NSCN K (Khango). The police informed that during the raid, they recovered one 9mm Berreta with 42 live rounds, Rs 10,000 cash, 17 booklets of extortion slips and other “incriminating documents.” The vehicles used in the commission of the crime, Alto K10 LXI was also recovered and seized. The arrested accused persons are in police custody at SBN PS.
