Wokha, June 1 (MExN): The scrutiny of nomination papers for the Wokha Town Council (WTC) bye-election from Tsumang-B, Ward-8, was conducted on June 1 in the office chamber of Assistant Returning Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Wokha, Renbomo Ezung.
The scrutiny was carried out in the presence of observer Y Chingyak Konyak, Joint Secretary, Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA).
Following examination of the documents, the nomination papers of both candidates were found to be in order and were approved, making them eligible to contest the upcoming by-election.
With the completion of the scrutiny process, the electoral exercise has moved to the next stage in accordance with the prescribed election procedures, officials said.
