TWO condemns kidnapping and rape by Havildar in Mkg

Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): The Tenyimi Women Organization (TWO) has expressed deep anguish over Havildar Takukaba from DEF Mokokchung abducting a young salesgirl employed in his shop and raping her. According to a press statement from TWO president Beinuo Besu and general secretary Vilanuo Yhome, the girl was employed by the accused on March 3 and was abducted from her work place on March 5.

The women organization alleged that Takukaba confined and raped the victim at Hotel Longkumer Semtu for the night until the next morning when the police search team broke opened the locked door of the room and arrested him. It stated that the hotel manager reportedly locked the room from the outside at the request of the Havildar and denied their presence when the rescue team of the victim’s family, neighbours and police came searching in the night.     

TWO while appreciating the law enforcing agency for their prompt action taken against the accused by registering a criminal case against him and investigating the case to ascertain the facts, condemned the act and demanded the authority to deliver immediate punishment as per the section of the law at the earliest. It further demanded that under no circumstances the accused should be granted bail.
