Two-day Mushroom cultivation training held at Noksosang Village

Longleng, November 24 (MexN): The ICAR-KVK Longleng successfully conducted a two-day Oyster Mushroom training-cum-demonstration and input distribution programme at Noksosang Village, Longleng.

A press update stated that the training witnessed active participation from 78 members representing seven SHGs namely Pangsha Khong, Pangchenla Khong, Mechangyem Khong, Haiyuh Khong, Matenchetla Khong, Chiitaplg Khong, and Meyung Khong.

The technical sessions were led by Shubhendu Kumar Behera, SMS (Plant Pathology), supported by Dr Kalu Ram, SMS (Fruit Science), and Shri Avaneesh Kumar, SMS (Agronomy). Participants received hands-on demonstrations on oyster mushroom production techniques, followed by the distribution of essential inputs to all participating SHGs.

OnthanPhom , VDB Secretary of Nolsosang village expressed appreciation for the initiative, where he encouraged the villagers to adopt mushroom cultivation for income generation.

The farmers conveyed their gratitude to ICAR–KVK Longleng for organising the training and providing practical skills for livelihood improvement. The KVK team also collected farmers’ feedback and documented a local mushroom germplasm “Kunglu” for future conservation and research work.
