Two detained with forged vehicle documents

Dimapur, March 31(MExN): Two person were detained by Kohima Police for allegedly travelling with forged vehicle documents in two separate incidents, a Kohima Police Official said today.   The Sub – Divisional Police Officer & PRO, Atu Zumvü NPS in a press note informed that the first arrest was made by combine team of Anti Vehicle Theft Squad (AVTS), D.I.B of DEF Kohima and A/10 NAP (IR) personnel during routine checking of vehicles at Tseisema Basa junction Kohima.

  A Tata Sumo (Zonal Taxi Bearing Regd. No. NL 05T 0339) was intercepted on suspicion and during verification of the said vehicle, the chassis and engine number engraved in the vehicle and smart card (RC book) were not matching, it added.   The owner of the vehicle identified as one C Odyuo for was detained in this connection and the police had registered a regular case at Chiephobozou PS for conducting further investigation, the official added.   In another similar case, 1 (One) more Maruti Alto Bearing (NL-01C-8693) was intercepted by the same team and during verification, the seized vehicle was plying with a fictitious Registration Card (smart card).   “As per the ownership details of the registration No.NL-01C-8693 was already allotted to a Maruti Omni Van by D.T.O Kohima and not to the seized Maruti Alto,” the police informed.   A regular case was also registered against the owner identified as one V.K John at Kohima Chiephobozou PS for conducting further investigation.
