
Dimapur, December 13 (MExN): Untold problems continue to plague Dimapur’s already harried business community. Yet again, two businessmen from Dimapur, Kailash Kala and Bimal Jain are reported to have been abducted today early morning while they were on their regular morning walk.
Sources informed that the duo, who usually take the west police station road from Sewak to DC court were last seen by some people at the Duncan Basti junction. The Chamber of Commerce of Dimapur was informed at around 9:30. Accordingly this was informed to the police and an FIR filed. At the time of filing this report, no calls of threat or ransom have been received so far by the families, sources informed.
An emergency meeting of the chamber (interim body) was called at 2 pm, with the office bearers of Nagaland Medicine Dealers’ Association (NMDA) in regard to the reported kidnapping of the two businessmen. The chamber of commerce has expressed grief that despite untold problems faced by businessmen, the community is still carrying on trade and business to accommodate the festive season.
The chamber and the NMDA, has urged the police, administration, underground factions and all concerned citizens to reach out to help in the rescue of Kailash Kala and Bimal Jain. And “within Sunday, December 14 failing which the chamber of commerce along with its subsidies will go for an indefinite closure of shops/business establishments in Dimapur with effect from December 15, till the safe release of the kidnapped.” The chamber has also directed all shops to cooperate in the larger interest of the safety of the business community.
