Two GPRN/NSCN cadres arrested

Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): The Assam Rifles arrested two GPRN/NSCN cadres from two locations in the recent past. According to an AR press note, the first arrest was made on May 31 at Zunheboto town when troops of 5 Assam Rifles apprehended a “political organizer” of the GPRN/NSCN.   The individual identified as one Hokangha Yeptha was carrying out extortion activities in the area and arrested with 25 extortion slips and unaccounted money, it added. He was later handed over to Zunheboto Police Station.   The second arrest occurred on June 3 when troops of 44 Assam Rifles apprehended one GPRN/NSCN cadre from Changtongya town, during a search operation carried out along with police representatives.

  He was identified as Sergeant Tali Ao. He was carrying out extortion activities in the area and was found in possession of one 9 mm Pistol, two magazine pistol, nine live rounds of 7.65 and two live rounds of 7.62 AK, the AR said.   He was subsequently handed over to Changtongya Police station.
