Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Friday stated that “upon receiving credible intelligence input on the inter-state smuggling of contraband narcotics,” the UT Personnel swung into action and apprehended two non-local along with Sampex Capsules approximately 15,000 pieces around the vicinity of Burma Camp, Dimapur on April 21 at around 1:00 pm. 

Obeto Tuccu, Secretary, UT Secretary Union Territory NSCN (IM) in a press release stated that the two apprehended were identified as Raj Kumar Das (31), Assam and Raju Kumar Gupta (35), Bihar. “Upon preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the contraband narcotics were in enroute from Dimapur via Bihar,” Tuccu stated while adding, “they have confessed to being habitual transporters of such banned substances to Dimapur.”

Meanwhile, Caretaker CAO UT has cautioned that “sale/supply and use of contraband narcotics under UT shall be dealt with in the most stringent manner and therefore, seek cooperation from all concerned to help stop the menace of substance abuse among the younger generations.”
