Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with 1.090 kg of heroin powder in the continued drive against drugs and illicit trafficking of the Manipur police, according to police.
The arrested persons were identified as Manglalmuon Gangte (35) and Houminsem Singsong, the police also said. Both of them are from Moreh.
A team of police commandos of Kakching district police arrested the duo during an operation at Leimanai Chingjin village based on specific information on Monday, around 11.20 am
The contraband drugs weighing 1.090 kg was concealed inside the fuel tank and the right side panel below the body of a vehicle, the police further said.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles were handed over to Kakching police station for taking up further necessary legal action, the police added.
