Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): Two women were killed in a car accident in Wokha district in the wee hours of April 30. According to a press release issued by SDPO Wokha, Kenesa Dawhuo, the incident occurred around 2:30 to 3:00 am between Yikhum Village and Helipad. The vehicle, Tata Sumo NL-01T- 5880, coming from Merapani to Wokha fell 250 ft below the road, the release said. The deceased has been identified as Thungbeni Patton (26) of Changsu Old village and Abeni Ngullie (28) of Nungying village. The note informed that four other occupants of the vehicle, including the driver were seriously injured.
The Police received information at 4:00 am and a case was registered at Wokha Police Station. The dead bodies were handed over to the relatives after observing all formalities, the release added. It further informed that IMFLs were recovered from the vehicle and later destroyed in the presence of Kyong Eloe Hoho, Police and District Administration.
The SP office, Wokha has acknowledged the benevolent assistance rendered to the victims by Yikhum Villagers before the arrival of Police and District Administration.
