In a tragic incident, the bodies of two Naga teenage youths were discovered dead on the morning of August 11 in Thahekhu village, Dimapur. The police suspect the incident to be a case of suicide.
According to Dimapur police, at around 9AM when they first received the call, the victims were found by the side of the road with their “necks tied to a tamarind tree.”
Indicting it as a case of suicide, the police stated that the bodies of the two victims were taken to the District Hospital Dimapur for examination.
Both the victims aged 16 and 19 years were students of Class 6 at Government High School, Thahekhu and residing at the home of their relatives. The police added that, since no foul play was suspected and at the request of the deceased's families, a post-mortem was not performed.
Later, their bodies were handed over to their respective families for necessary last rites.
