The 27th General Conference of the Naga Students’ Federation will be held from May 30 through June 2, 2017 at Tzürangkong Range, hosted by the Ao Students’ Conference under the theme ‘Amelioration’ with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Kiren Rijiju as chief guest and the chief minister of Nagaland, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu as chief host.
More than 2000 delegates from the 17 federating units of NSF and the 21 subordinate units of NSF as well as invitees from the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation, Eastern Naga Students’ Association (Myanmar), NESO, AASU and a host of apex student organizations from neighbouring regions including Myanmar are expected to attend the conference.
Nagaland Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Benjongliba Aier, Nagaland MP Neiphiu Rio, Nagaland Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar IAS, Arunachal Pradesh Parliamentary Secretary Laisam Samai and Nagaland Minister Y. Vikheho Swu will also grace the conference as special guests.
Cultural regale, a debate of the topic “Nagas are economically sustaining as a nation,” a thematic presentation by Dr. Xavier Pfokrehe, Professor and HoD of Philosophy, NEHU Shillong followed by a brainstorming session, election of new NSF office bearers, a conference feast, and a special appearance by Dreamz Unlimited, among others, will be the major highlights of the conference.
The NSF Central Organizing Committee led by its convener Kelhouneizo Yhome and NSF president Subenthung Kithan, AKM organizing committee led by its convener Imchatoba Imchen and AKM president Imkongwati, and Local Organizing Committee Tzürangkong held a joint coordination meeting on May 19 Friday to ensure successfully organizing the conference.
Tzürangkong range is situated in the border belt of Nagaland and Assam states amassing an area of approximately 226 sq.kms and stands at 155 meters above sea level with hot and humid climatic conditions.
