Hectic preparations are on for the 27th General Conference of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) to be held at Tzürangkong under Mokokchung district of Nagaland, to be hosted by the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM). The conference is slated to be held in the last week of May. Led by the newly inducted president of AKM, Imkongwati and his colleagues, the hosts are making all out effort to successfully host the conference.
AKM Organizing Committee convener and former NSF president Imchatuba Imchen and his team are in constant contact with the local organizing committee of Tzürangkong and have visited the site on April 15 to take stock of the developments.
Tzürangkong is a range in the foothills of Mokokchung district bordering Assam and is comprised of at least eight Ao Naga villages and the meeting hall of the ensuing conference is being constructed at Chungtiayimsen village. It may be mentioned here that the last general conference of the apex Naga students’ body hosted by AKM was the 23rd NSF general conference 2009 at Mopungchuket village.
As the conference draw nearer, AKM president Imkongwati and AKM Organizing Committee convener Imchatuba has requested all well wishers and stakeholders to extend support and cooperation for success of the event. More than 2000 delegates from the various federating units are expected to attend the general conference.
