DIMAPUR, APRIL 17 (MExN): Dimapur booked their place in the finals of the Under-23 inter district cricket tournament by defeating Mokokchung today by 72 runs.
Dimapur won the toss and elected to bat first, putting up a total of 175 runs for 6 wickets in 25 overs. Sedezalie was the top scorer with 33 runs, followed by Imlikaba who scored 29; Mannrayan who scored 28 and Tahmeed who scored 21 runs. Aloto was the highest wicket taker for Mokokchung with 3.
In response Mokokchung were bowled out for 103 runs in 22.2 overs. Mokokchung’s top scorer was Longkitzuong with 26 runs, followed by Ambesh with 14 runs and Vijay Rai with 11 runs.
Nagaho, Tahmeed, Cherenjevi and Moakumjak bagged 2 wickets each for Dimapur.
Dimapur will face Tuensang in the finals, whose match against Zunheboto was abandoned due to rain. Tuensang progressed to the final on the basis of their better point position in the league stages.
The final match will be played on April 18 at 9:00am, and the matches will be 40 overs for each inning.
