Kohima | October 29 

A two day long golden jubilee celebration of Union Baptist Church (UBC) Kohima concluded today under the theme “Generation to generation… Proclaiming His Praise” (Psalm 145:4) at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima.

Itinerant Evangelist and Bible Teacher Dr. Kethoser Kevichusa delivered a message on the topic “Generation to generation: A story to proclaim” while Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) executive Ddirector Rev. Dr Rachülie Vihienuo talked on “Generation to generation: A community to belong.

Greetings was shared by Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary Nagaland Baptist Church Council.

Prayer of commitment and benediction was done by Diezenino Phizo, Associate Pastor, Union Baptist Church.

Day 2 celebration witnessed special presentation from UBC Sunday School, special songs from “The Beginners,” Lighthouse(UBKK), Jubilee Choir and Senior Choir.

Worship dance was presented by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Keviyachii Liegise, Convenor, Jubilee Planning Committee.

Earlier, on October 28, the opening ceremony took place at the church premises of UBC wherein Seno Vihienuo delivered message. Visato Yhoshii, pastor UBC Kohima welcomed the congregation and pronounced Bible reading and prayer.

Town Baptist Church Dimapur pastor Rev. Vilodi Sakhrie was the main speaker.

Speaking on the topic “Generation to Generation: A message to keep,” he touched on the Bible verses from 2 Timothy and Romans to encourage the congregation to how do we keep the Gospel by strongly guarding the truth that has been entrusted upon the Church.

He said that Gospel is not only forgiveness of sin but it is the eternal life in Christ Jesus.

The greatest and most important message on earth is that there is eternal life in Christ, he said.

Maintaining that the Church should stand as the pillar and foundation of truth, he said as believers in Christ one should not only expect for easy life and richness but must be prepared to suffer for the Gospel.

Rev. Sakhrie also encouraged believers to be disciplined and follow and proclaim the Gospel with determination.

‘Have a strong personal relationship with Lord’
The only living founding member of the church, D. K. Zeliang released the jubilee souvenir.

Zeliang encouraged the believers to follow the culture of the Cross to have a strong personal relationship with Lord and for an eternal life.

The service commenced with Call to worship led by former music director of UBC Dr. Vivee Peseyie and invocation by Nagaland Baptist Church Council president Rev Dr Atsi Dolie.

A video clip “In Memoriam” of UBC was also screened.

Angami Baptist Church Council president Rev Savito Nagi shared greetings.

UBC Deacon Board chairman Seketouzo Haralu delivered the welcome address while Deaconess, Baptist Mission Church Kohima, Khrienuo Metha read the scripture and benediction was pronounced by UBC deacon Vilalhoulie Chielie.

Special presentations by Lystra Band, Naya Jeevan Baptist Church Kohima and Jubilee Choir enthralled the gathering.

City Church Kohima pastor Rev. Kedo Peseyie delivered the message on the topic “Generation to Generation: A faith to live” in the evening service.
