UG cadres asked to vacate Phek Village

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): The Phek Students’ Union (PSU) and Phek Village Council has expressed its dismay to the factions for willfully occupying Phek Village while bringing disharmony and disturbing public peace especially to the students’ community at this crucial time of academic session and as the  farmers are busy harvesting at the proper season. Therefore the students’ body and the Village Council has requested different factions to strictly adhere to ceasefire ground rules and go back to their respective designated camps. This was stated in a press note issued by Sekho, President PSU and Shenutso Soho Village Council Chairman of Phek Village.

Meanwhile the PSU and VCC have condemned the barbaric acts of Veripa Soho, a Leacy in NSCN (I-M) for roughing up with pistol Chivozo Soho, a Village Council Member (VCM. The press note alleged that Veripa had fired the pistol at him but by the grace of almighty God, the pistol was misfired. Had the bullet gone off the council member could have died on the spot, the statement pointed out. Such acts of barbarism cannot be tolerated in this civilized society, it stated and appealed to the concerned authority to take appropriate and necessary action against its errant cadre.

In a separate press note the PSU also expressed dismay at the factions for willfully occupying Phek Village and also the treatment meted out to Chivozo Soho, a Village Council Member by the NSCN (IM) Leacy, stated SEKHO, President PSU and BODUVE RHAKHO, General Secretary PSU.
