Consequent upon the approval of Central Government and as per the UGC (Institutions of Eminence Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2017 and UGC (Declaration of Government Educational Institutions as Institutions of Eminence) Guidelines, 2017, the UGC has constituted an Empowered Expert Committee (EEC) with the following as Chairperson and members respectively: N. Gopalaswami, IAS (Retd), former Chief Election Commissioner of India- Chairperson; Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo Lemman Professor, Harvard Business School- Member; Dr Pritam Singh, former Director, MDI Gurugram IIM, Lucknow—Member; Dr Renu Khator, Chancellor of University of Houston System-Member. The powers and functions of the EEC shall be as per the Regulations and the Guidelines of the aforementioned provisions. This notification was issued by Secretary, UGC, Prof. Rajnish Jain on February 20 vide F/No.1- 4/ 2016 (CPP-I/ DU/ IOE).
