
Kohima, June 28 (MExN): Counting of votes for election to the Kohima municipality will take place at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner, Kohima on June 29 from 8:00 am onwards. T Lanusenla Longkumer, Returning Officer, Kohima Municipal Council asked the Counting Agents to reach the counting venue by 7:30 am along with ID cards.
Traffic regulations
In view of counting of votes, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant informed all the concerned candidates and the general public that restriction will be imposed for entry of vehicles from Y-Junction to office of the DC Kohima and movement of general public from Congress Bhavan junction towards DC office respectively.
In this regard, one vehicle per candidate will be permitted till the gate of office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima for dropping or pick up purpose only and may be parked in the Multi-Level Car Parking facility after that or any other parking facility.
The general public has been requested to bear with the inconvenience and extend cooperation in the interest of smooth counting process.
Use of mobile phones prohibited
Meanwhile, in pursuance to the State Election Commission’s notification, DC Kohima Kumar Ramnikant has issued a notification order prohibiting the use of mobile phones inside the Counting Hall on Counting Day.
The order specifies that all individuals, including candidates, counting agents, and counting officials, are barred from bringing mobile phones into the Counting Hall. However, this prohibition is exempted for the Observer, Deputy Commissioner, Returning Officer (RO), and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO).
